2024 Mavs Fall Development Program

This is an eight-week academy program, with up to three-hours of formal weekday instruction and up to three-hours of weekend instruction. Players are required to be fully committed to the program to successfully complete the progressive  instruction, education, field team practice hours and intrasquads. We will focus on proper mechanics, technique and intermediate-advanced sport specific principles. Over the course of the program, we will emphasize a large number of repetitions in fielding, hitting, and skill based techniques. Sunday field practices will progress from team skill practices to inter squads (as part of our fall game play). There is no prerequisite to be involved. No tryout needed (except for 14U. See below).

Soft start period: We will hold optional structured open gym sessions for players to attend and familiarize with our staff/program. 

Players will be assigned a group by  the program start date, Sep 3. 

Tournament Play Opportunity: We will use an athletic depth chart to select the top 12 players ( in each age group) to compete in two “invite only” events this fall.

14U Chico Rice: This is a transitional group from NorCal Mavericks to Chico Nuts American Legion Baseball Program. The focus for fall is instruction and development. Players must attend tryouts on Sun, AUG 18 or Sun, AUG 25. 8:30AM to 10AM. Goal is to complete 12-16 games by end of October. All games are either Saturday or Sunday.
